Prof. Jasper Veldman is a Professor of Operations Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen. He holds a MSc (2004) and PhD (2011) from the same university. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente (2009–2013). His research focuses on asset management, maintenance strategies, strategic operations, and technology management, particularly in energy sectors like offshore wind farms. Notable projects include leadership roles in NWO-funded initiatives on sustainable service logistics for offshore energy production.
Key contributions include studies on condition-based maintenance, supplier collaboration dynamics, and fleet electrification. Awards include a Highly Commended Award from the Journal of Quality in Maintenance Engineering and a runner-up in the Journal of Supply Chain Management’s best paper competition (2014). He supervises PhD students and teaches courses such as Asset Management and Sustainable Energy Supply. As former program coordinator for the MSc Technology and Operations Management (TOM), he emphasizes interdisciplinary education in logistics and operations strategy.
