Jason Potas

Dr. Jason Potas is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Australian National University, affiliated with the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the Division of Neuroscience. His research spans basic neuroscience and translational studies on neural injury recovery.

Dr. Potas investigates sensory-motor coding and neural adaptation post-injury, with a focus on therapeutic strategies like photobiomodulation and biomaterials for neural regeneration. His lab also explores neuroprosthetic interfaces through brainstem signal decoding.

Key research themes from his publications include neural signal processing, macrophage polarization in nerve repair, and brainstem autonomic pathways. He employs techniques like electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, and machine learning to decode sensory information.
