Jason N. Arthur

Dr. Jason N. Arthur is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). He holds dual appointments in the Division of Emergency Ultrasound and the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. His roles include academic faculty, clinical care, and research focused on emergency ultrasound, medical education, and critical care.

Dr. Arthur earned his Master of Public Health and Medical Degree (M.D.) from UAMS. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville, followed by a fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound at UAMS. His educational background also includes a Political Science degree from the University of Central Arkansas.

His research interests include advanced echocardiography, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, and pediatric emergency care. Key areas of focus are clinical predictors for intubation in angioedema, lung ultrasound protocols for volume overload in children on dialysis, and the use of point-of-care ultrasound in emergency diagnostics. His work emphasizes improving emergency ultrasound techniques and medical education strategies.

Dr. Arthur has received several teaching awards, including the Department of Emergency Medicine Service Award, Outstanding Senior Resident Award, and the Rosilie O. Saffos Award for Outstanding Resident Teacher of the Year. He is a member of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine and the American College of Emergency Physicians.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Arthur contributes to medical education through teaching and mentoring residents. His involvement in research includes collaborative projects on emergency ultrasound applications and pediatric emergency medicine protocols. He is actively involved in the Emergency Ultrasound Division and collaborates with the Pediatric Emergency Medicine team at UAMS to advance diagnostic and procedural techniques in emergency settings.
