Jason M. Lazar

Jason M. Lazar serves as Executive Vice Dean and Chair of the Department of Medical Education at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University's College of Medicine, with additional appointments in the School of Public Health. His responsibilities include administrative oversight of the MD program, expansion of the Center for Healthcare Simulation, and faculty development for educators.

Dr. Lazar's professional focus centers on Medical Education, where he drives curriculum development and learning environment initiatives. His clinical expertise in Cardiology is evidenced by his role as Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology, while his commitment to equity manifests through leadership in Health Disparities research and the Program to Increase Diversity Among Individuals Engaged in Cardiovascular Health-Related Research.

Dr. Lazar actively mentors medical students through career advising, residency planning, and clinical precepting.
