Dr. Jason Kwah is an Assistant Professor (Adjunct) in the Department of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology at Yale School of Medicine. He is board certified in Allergy and Immunology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Kwah received his MD from Drexel University College of Medicine, completed residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He joined Yale in 2019.
His research focuses on drug allergy management, particularly in obstetrics and gynecology, and the development of clinical decision-making tools to optimize antibiotic use and de-label penicillin allergies. He collaborates with experts such as Ami Belmont, Moeun Son, and Jean Bolognia on studies addressing penicillin allergy evaluation, surgical prophylaxis, and hypersensitivity syndromes.
Dr. Kwah has been recognized for his teaching excellence, including awards from Northwestern University and Mount Sinai Hospital. His work has been published in high-impact journals like JAMA Internal Medicine and the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. He is also actively involved in improving healthcare practices through cost analyses and clinical intervention studies.
Awards include the Fellow Excellence in Teaching (2018) and multiple Outstanding Teaching Attending awards (2015–2017). His clinical interests span allergy evaluation protocols, antibiotic stewardship, and patient safety in surgical and obstetric contexts.
