Jason Cleverly serves as the Course Leader for the BA Product and Furniture Design program at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London. His work focuses on designing interactive, interpretive craft installations for museums and galleries to enhance visitor engagement through collaboration and participation. His practice integrates materials and embedded technologies, emphasizing interaction and affordance. Cleverly holds a PhD (2018) titled "The Artist-designer: Situating Creative Interaction and Interpretation in the Museum".
His research and creative output include publications in journals such as Journal of Museum Management and Curatorship and Emotion and Social Interaction, exploring themes like creativity in museum spaces and interdisciplinary design. Notable installations include The Enlightened Eye (2014) for Liskeard Museum and Ghost Ship (2001) for S.O.F.A. Chicago. He leads a team shaping educational programs in product and furniture design.
