Jason Choi

Jason Choi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, focusing on molecular mechanisms of laminopathies including dilated cardiomyopathy and lipodystrophy caused by LMNA gene mutations.

His primary research investigates:

• Tissue-specific pathogenesis of LMNA mutations through cardiac microenvironment analysis
• Cardiomyocyte-fibroblast interactions using in vitro co-cultures and mouse models
• Adipocyte mechanisms in lipodystrophy via conditional knockout studies
• Nuclear envelope regulation of signaling cascades in disease progression

Current projects examine perinuclear organelle trauma in cardiomyopathy and dual specificity phosphatase 4's role in cardiac function.

Dr. Choi directs the Choi Laboratory and collaborates with the Center for Translational Medicine, developing therapeutic strategies targeting convergent/divergent pathological mechanisms in laminopathies.
