Jason Adkins serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts at Furman University and concurrently in the Department of Performing Arts at Clemson University, teaching courses including Introduction to Theatre, Acting, Stage Combat, and Dramatic Literature for 12 years. He also trains students in performance and presentation as Associate Mock Trial Coach for Furman's national Top-20 award-winning mock trial program.
His educational background includes:
- MFA in Acting, University of Southern Mississippi (2009)
- BA in Secondary Education: History with Theatre minor, Clemson University (2006)
Adkins' professional focus spans Theatre, Acting, and Stage Combat, with practical application in dramatic literature analysis and performance training. His actor portfolio features roles such as Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Tybalt in Romeo & Juliet, Lurch in The Addams Family, and Mike in Technicolor Life, demonstrating interdisciplinary performance expertise.
Through Furman's mock trial program, he mentors law-bound students in competitive presentation techniques. Previously, he led creative operations as Artistic Director of Theatre West Virginia (2015-2018), overseeing artistic teams and talent acquisition.
