Jasmine Snowden is a Senior Teaching Fellow, Masters of Nursing Programme Lead, and Mental Health Admissions Lead at the University of Southampton's School of Health Sciences. She holds an MRes in Clinical and Health Research and is a registered adult and mental health nurse. Her research focuses on reducing restrictive practices in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), simulation-based nursing education, improving outcomes for autistic individuals, and patient/staff safety. She chairs Dual-Field Nurses UK and serves as an autism ambassador.
Education background includes dual-field adult and mental health nursing studies, with post-registration roles in acute mental health settings. Her current projects involve virtual reality in staff education (with Hampshire and IOW research group) and 360-camera simulation in nursing education (with University of Bournemouth).
Awards include the 2021 Hampshire and IOW Trust Star Award for Excellent Practice. She teaches across nursing programmes, emphasizing clinical skills and dual-field nursing practices. External roles include peer review for the Journal of Clinical Nursing and NIHR, plus speaking engagements on virtual reality in mental health.
