Jasmine Farrier is a Professor of Political Science and Director of the UofL-Frankfort Internship Program at the University of Louisville. She has held leadership roles including Department Chair, Vice President for University Advancement, and Acting Executive Director of the University Honors Program. Her research focuses on the U.S. government's three branches, legislative studies, the presidency, and judicial dynamics. Farrier holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Her research explores separation of powers, war powers, and budgetary conflicts, with notable works like *Constitutional Dysfunction on Trial* and analyses of Supreme Court decisions. Teaching areas include American Government, the Presidency, and Constitutional Law.
- Awards: Honorary Commonwealth Ambassador (2020), Kentucky Colonel (2006), Founders’ Award (2016), and Miller Center Fellowship (2000–2001).
- Grants: Awarded funding from the Grawemeyer Foundation for instructional development (2013, 2007).
Recent publications address the Major Questions Doctrine in student loan cases and executive war powers. She actively contributes to the American Political Science Association and the Southern Political Science Association.
