Jasmine Alam is an Associate Professor and Academic Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre at the Shannon School of Business, Cape Breton University. She holds a PhD in Economics and Management from the University of New Brunswick, along with Master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and University of London, and a BA from Carleton University.

Her research focuses on micro-finance, B Corporations, and Corporate Social Responsibility, complemented by expertise in social entrepreneurship and start-up development. She teaches Entrepreneurship and Strategy, and actively supports social impact initiatives through roles such as Expert in Residence at the Innovation Cluster (Ontario) and membership in the Wharton Venture Lab.
As Academic Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre, she leads initiatives fostering innovation and community engagement. She previously worked in the Government of Canada and private sector, bringing diverse professional experience to her academic roles.
