Jasmina Jokić is a full professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad, specializing in Serbian Language and Literature. She holds a Doctor of Literary Sciences degree (2009) from the Faculty of Philosophy, Novi Sad, earned with a dissertation titled Queens and Queen's Songs in the Context of Spring Ritual Processions.
Research interests include oral literature, folklore dramatic forms, methodology of field research of folklore, and the relationship between oral and written literature. Her work explores the traditional culture of Serbs and other Slavic peoples, with a focus on folkloric motifs in literature and pedagogical approaches to teaching literature.
Recent publications (2016–2019) examine topics such as folkloric representations of supernatural beings, carnivalization in oral dramatic forms, and the legacy of pre-Christian rituals in Serbian folklore. Her scholarly output emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, blending literary analysis with anthropological and ethnographic methodologies.
Teaching encompasses courses like Introduction to Folk Literature, Mythical Creatures of Serbian Folklore, and Methodology of Teaching Literature, reflecting her commitment to advancing folkloric and literary education.
