Jasmin Schmidlin is a Researcher and doctoral student at the University of Basel, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and the Department of Gender Studies. She holds an MA (2022) and BA (2019) in Sociology and German Philology from the University of Basel, Goethe University Frankfurt, and the University of Glasgow. Her current responsibilities include student advising and teaching, and she previously worked as a tutor for sociological theories and research assistant at the Graduate School of Social Sciences (G33) and Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics.
Research Interests include feminist epistemology, new materialisms, ecological vulnerability, and the intersection of gender with socio-cultural practices. Her dissertation project, Of bodily materiality and willful bodies, explores feminist theory through menstruating bodies and materialist frameworks.
Publications highlight contributions to understanding ecological vulnerability through social theory and art-science intersections. She collaborates with institutions like the Center for Gender Studies and participates in events such as the 2025 SAGS Conference on “wissen – savoir – sapere – know(-ledges)”.
