معرفی
Prof Jarrod Hurley is a Professor at the School of Science, Computing and Emerging Technologies at Swinburne University. His research focuses on astronomical sciences, space sciences, and particle and high-energy physics, with a particular emphasis on stellar evolution, gravitational waves, and star cluster dynamics. He has received the Hubble Fellowship in 2002 from the American Museum of Natural History.
His work explores topics such as massive star formation, black hole mergers, and the impact of evolving galactic structures. He has contributed to projects like the Neutron Star Extreme Matter Observatory (NEMO) and gravitational wave detector networks. Prof Hurley has supervised over 11 PhD students, including studies on star cluster evolution, gravitational wave progenitors, and pulsar populations.
He has been involved in numerous grants and collaborations, including the ARC Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery and projects with Fourier Space Pty Ltd and mDetect Pty Ltd. His research integrates numerical simulations (e.g., N-body and Monte Carlo methods) with observational data to advance understanding of stellar systems and their dynamics.
