Professor Jarrod Haar (Ngāti Maniapoto and Ngāti Mahuta) serves as Dean's Chair in Management and Māori Business at Massey University's School of Management and Marketing within the College of Business (Albany campus). Ranked as World Class (A) under New Zealand's PBRF system and recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand, he leads research at the intersection of organizational behavior and Māori advancement with significant public engagement through 249+ media appearances.
His research centers on dual pillars: employee dynamics (wellbeing, burnout, work-life balance, leadership) and employer strategies (innovation, HR practices, entrepreneurship), uniquely integrated with Māori cultural frameworks and mātauranga Māori. Recent work emphasizes translating findings into public discourse, notably addressing pandemic-era challenges like the Great Resignation through frequent media contributions.
