Jaroslav Vlnka is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Slovak Language and Literature, Faculty of Education, J. Selye University in Komárno. He holds a PhD in Theory and History of Slovak Literature and a PaedDr. (Pedagogical Doctorate) in Slovak Language and Literature. His academic career includes roles at multiple institutions, including the Comenius University in Bratislava and the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava.
His research focuses on interwar Slovak literature, literary realism, post-1945 Slovak literature, and didactics of Slovak language and literature. Notable projects include studies on Pavol Bunčák’s surrealism, Slovak-Czech textual comparisons, and inclusion initiatives in education.
Vlnka has contributed to over 112 publications, including monographs like Pavel Bunčák a poézia nadrealizmu and pedagogical works such as Prehľad dejín slovenskej literatúry. His articles span themes like narrative motifs in modern Slovak prose, symbolism, and historical literary contexts.
He has participated in EU-funded projects like Inclusion4Schools and SLOV2LIN, addressing educational inclusion and language teaching. His work bridges literary analysis with pedagogical innovation, emphasizing cultural and historical context in Slovak literary studies.
