Jared Davies

Jared Davies is a Senior Lecturer and Academic Manager in Accounting & Finance within the School of Law, Accounting & Finance at the University of Wales, Newport. He holds a PhD from King's College London and a BSc in Economics from the University of Warwick, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with prior experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers. His academic leadership includes roles as CIMA Programme Leader and Academic Subject Leader.

Jared’s research is centered on sustainability accounting, with a focus on Full Cost Accounting (FCA), which integrates economic, environmental, and social costs into organizational decision-making. He developed an FCA model using Action Research and theoretical frameworks from dialogics, organizational change, and institutional theory, applying it to higher education campus development. His work extends to incorporating biodiversity metrics into FCA models, aiming to advance practical sustainability in universities and public sector organizations.

His publications and presentations from 2008 to 2014 reflect a consistent focus on applying FCA in higher education, methodological development, and sustainability reporting. Themes include environmental and social accountability, institutional change, and the integration of ecological values into financial frameworks.
