Janusz Knorowski

Janusz Knorowski is a Professor at the Faculty of Painting, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he has been employed since 1988. He additionally serves as a professor of painting at the Department of New Media Art, Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, demonstrating dual institutional commitment to art education.

Born in Częstochowa in 1964, he completed his studies at the Faculty of Painting, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1983–1988), graduating with distinction under Professor Ludwik Maciąg's studio.

His artistic practice spans three core domains:

• Painting (primary discipline)
• New Media Art (through cross-institutional teaching)
• Music (as co-founder of T-Love band)

With 50 solo exhibitions to his name, his work explores contemporary visual expression while bridging traditional painting techniques with new media experimentation. His musical endeavors reflect a multidisciplinary approach to artistic creation.

At the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Professor Knorowski directs the foundational Painting Studio for first-year students, shaping emerging artists through structured mentorship in essential painting techniques and conceptual development.
