معرفی
Janusz Borycz is a Senior Lecturer (part-time) in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University, Faculty of Science. His research focuses on neurotransmitter mechanisms, histamine recycling in Drosophila, and modeling human disorders like depression and addiction using invertebrate and vertebrate models. He employs techniques such as HPLC, microdialysis, imaging, and behavioral analysis.
- Education:
- Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Institute of Pharmacology, Polish Academy of Sciences (Kraków, Poland), 1997
- Postdoctoral work at Dalhousie University (2000–2003)
- National Institute on Drug Abuse, NIH, Baltimore (2003–2007)
- Teaching:

His research explores neurotransmitter release/recycling, transmembrane transporters, and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis regulation. He investigates histamine's role in photoreceptor signaling and leverages Drosophila models to study human neurological conditions.
