Janneke Krooneman is a Lecturer-researcher at Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, affiliated with the Research Centre Biobased Economy and the Life Sciences & Renewable Energy department. She holds a Doctor of Science in Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology. Her research focuses on polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), anaerobic digestion, and sustainable bioplastic production from renewable resources like xylose and cow manure. Key projects include 'Biodegradeerbare Coatings' (2025–2028) and 'PHAst Thermoplast' (2024–2026), aiming to advance biobased materials. She has authored over 40 publications, with recent work on thermophilic PHA production and biomass fractionation.
