Janis Wolf is a researcher at the University of Greifswald in the Department of Applied Zoology and Nature Conservation. Their work focuses on climate change ecology and anthropogenic impacts on biodiversity, particularly studying adaptive behaviors in temperate bats and urbanization effects on species distribution.
- Current projects include experimental manipulation of bat roost temperatures under the RESPONSE project A3
- Developing Integrated Population Models (IPMs) for climate resilience predictions
- Macroecological analyses of urban affinity traits in bats and invasive plant dynamics
Research Highlights:
• Demonstrated direct temperature effects on bat body size through field experiments
• Investigating metabolic costs and torpor use in heated vs. unheated roosts
• Combining thermal imaging and respirometry techniques for behavioral monitoring
Collaborations:
Working with Professor Gerald Kerth and international researchers on bat conservation and climate adaptation studies.
