معرفی
Dr. Janine Saltzmann serves as Scientific Head of the Working Group Carry Over at the Institute of Animal Nutrition (ITE) within Germany's Thünen Institute in Braunschweig. Her position places her at the forefront of research on substance transfer mechanisms between animal feed and agricultural products, operating within a federal research framework focused on sustainable agricultural practices.
Her research centers on Contaminant Carry-over and Nutrient Metabolism in livestock systems, with critical applications in Feed Safety and Food Chain Safety. The Carry Over working group investigates how toxins, heavy metals, and nutrients migrate from feed into animal-derived products like milk and meat, directly impacting human health risk assessments and regulatory standards for the agricultural industry.
Under her leadership, the working group collaborates with the institute's Experimental Station Braunschweig and Digitalization Data Management unit to develop evidence-based feed safety protocols. Their research directly informs European food safety regulations and industry practices for mitigating hazardous substance transfer while optimizing nutritional outcomes in animal production systems.
