Janie A. Kennedy is an Associate Professor at Samford University within the Howard College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. She joined the faculty in 1997 and has held leadership roles in the Samford chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and the Alabama Association of College Teachers of Mathematics.

Her research focuses on design theory and graph theory, particularly combinatorial designs and packing/covering problems in graph structures. Her work includes studies on hexagon packings in complete graphs and decompositions of digraphs.
Dr. Kennedy has published extensively in combinatorics journals, including Congressus Numerantium, Ars Combinatoria, and The Australasian Journal of Combinatorics, with a recurring emphasis on graph theory and combinatorial structures.
