معرفی
Dr. Janghoo Lim is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Genetics and Neuroscience at Yale School of Medicine. He holds joint appointments and is a member of the Program in Cellular Neuroscience, Neurodegeneration and Repair (CNNR), and the Wu Tsai Institute. His research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA1) and mechanisms underlying protein misfolding and neuronal degeneration.
Education: Lim earned his BS from Chonnam National University (1997), MS from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (1999), and PhD from Baylor College of Medicine (2004). He completed postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine before joining Yale in 2010.
Research Interests: His work explores molecular pathways in neurodegeneration, including alternative splicing dysregulation, Wnt signaling, and lysosomal biogenesis. He investigates disease signatures in animal models and human tissues, aiming to develop therapeutic strategies targeting Nemo-like kinase and other pathways.
Awards: Lim has received prestigious awards such as the NIH Pathway to Independence Award (2009), NARSAD Young Investigator Award (2010), and multiple recognitions from the National Ataxia Foundation and the Sloan Foundation.
Lab & Collaborations: The Lim Lab at Yale studies neurodegenerative mechanisms in SCA1 and collaborates with researchers like David van Dijk and Siyuan Wang. His lab integrates single-cell transcriptomics and systems biology approaches to understand disease progression.
