Janelle Stevenson is a Research Fellow at the Australian National University's School of Culture, History & Language. She holds a BSc and PhD from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and specializes in palaeoecology, palynology, and environmental science. Her research integrates sedimentary records, contemporary ecological data, historical narratives, and Indigenous knowledge to understand long-term environmental dynamics in Southeast Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Islands.
Current projects include roles as Chief Investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage (CABAH) and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Environmental Histories and Futures (CIEHF). She teaches courses in palaeoenvironmental reconstruction and archaeological laboratory methods.
