Jane Sattoe

Dr. Jane Sattoe serves as a Senior Lecturer in Lifespan Care at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, where she combines research and teaching with a strong focus on person-centered care approaches. She leads multiple research initiatives through the Healthcare Innovation Knowledge Center and contributes to interdisciplinary healthcare innovation projects across institutional boundaries.

Dr. Sattoe completed her Master's degree in Health Economics, Policy & Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2010, followed by her PhD in 2015 with the dissertation 'Growing up with a Chronic Condition: Challenges for Self-management and Self-management Support.'

Her research interests center on transitional healthcare for young people with chronic conditions, examining how to effectively support self-management across the lifespan. She investigates the challenges young people face when managing chronic conditions and develops practical frameworks for improving transitional care services. Her work emphasizes connecting scientific insights with practical healthcare applications, with particular attention to life cycle perspectives and the unique needs of different patient populations.
