Jane Jarman is Professor of Legal Practice at Nottingham Law School, Nottingham Trent University, specializing in intellectual property, legal professional privilege, professional ethics, and legal education integration into workplace compliance frameworks. A qualified solicitor since 1992, she advises UK and international regulators while contributing to Legal Sector Affinity Group Guidance on Anti-Money Laundering (2021).
Her research examines professional ethics, anti-money laundering compliance, fraud in professions, and workplace legal education. Key investigations include ethical vulnerability of young lawyers, solicitor-accountant dual roles, and trade mark attorney qualification pathways, emphasizing risk management applications in legal practice.
Recent publications (2017-2022) reveal evolving focus from intellectual property regulation toward ethical crisis management in legal professions, with increasing emphasis on anti-money laundering compliance challenges and professional identity formation.
