Jana Zscheischler

Jana Zscheischler is an Assistant Professor at the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) in Müncheberg, Germany, affiliated with Research Area 2 “Land Use and Governance” and leading the Working Group “Co-Design of Change and Innovation”. Her work bridges social sciences and agricultural landscape research through transdisciplinary approaches.

Dr. Zscheischler specializes in transformative sustainability research with focus on innovations in agricultural/food systems, environmental conflicts, and justice frameworks. She employs empirical social research methods to analyze socio-ecological transitions in bioeconomy contexts, emphasizing co-design processes and participatory governance models for sustainable land management.

She currently co-leads the BMBF-funded junior research group BioKum (Bioeconomy and Social Change) and directs the “Innovation Groups for Sustainable Land Management” project, both investigating social dimensions of agricultural transformations through transdisciplinary collaboration with stakeholders.
