Jana Koehler

Jana Koehler is Professor and Co-Head of the AI Robotics Research Lab at Lucerne University. With a strong background in industrial research (IBM, Schindler) and academia, she leads research in AI planning, constraint programming, and business process automation.

Her work focuses on industrial applications of AI, including manufacturing optimization (cable wiring benchmarks), tourism information systems, and cognitive customer service solutions. Recent publications explore approximation algorithms for combinatorial problems and constraint pattern modeling.

Koehler has developed courses on AI fundamentals, knowledge representation, and software architecture. She coordinates projects on child welfare data collection and women's participation in computer science.
