Dr. Jana K. Lipman is Professor of History at Tulane University specializing in U.S. immigration, refugee policy, and military history. Her award-winning research examines Vietnamese refugee camps, Guantánamo Bay's history, and U.S. military humanitarianism.
Publications include 'In Camps: Vietnamese Refugees, Asylum Seekers, and Repatriates' (2020) and 'Guantánamo: A Working-Class History' (2009). Current research investigates sexual violence in the U.S. military since the All-Volunteer Force. Recipient of multiple honors including Fulbright and book prizes. Engaged in public history projects on labor and migration.
