Jana Iverson

Jana Iverson is Professor and Associate Dean for Research at Boston University's Sargent College, holding the Christopher A. Moore Chair in Pediatric Rehabilitation. Her research examines links between early motor development and communication skills in typical development and autism.

Using kinematic and behavioral methods, she studies how motor milestones like sitting and walking create opportunities for language acquisition. Current projects investigate developmental cascades in infants with familial autism risk.

Her publication record includes extensive work on gesture-speech connections, object exploration, and early autism indicators through the Baby Siblings Research Consortium.
