Jana Gutiérrez Kerns

Jana Gutiérrez Kerns is an Associate Professor in the Department of World Languages, Literatures & Cultures at Auburn University, specializing in Spanish American poetry and U.S. Latino literature. She earned her PhD from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, an MA from Middlebury College, and another MA from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, with a BA from Southern Methodist University.

Notable scientific recognition includes the Feministas Unidas Essay Prize for her work on Dulce María Loynaz. She teaches courses ranging from Spanish phonetics to advanced literary criticism and poetry analysis.
