معرفی
Jan Wohland is an Associate Professor in Renewable Energy Systems at the University of Oslo's Institute of Transport Economics (ITS), joining in July 2024. His research bridges climate and energy science, focusing on decarbonization strategies, climate variability's impact on energy systems, and uncertainties in climate models.
- Affiliations: Institute of Transport Economics (ITS), UiO
- Research Interests: Climate change impacts on renewable energy, energy system optimization, and multidecadal renewable energy potential fluctuations.
He holds a PhD from Research Center Jülich (2016–2019), followed by a postdoc at ETH Zurich (2019–2021), and worked at the Climate Service Center Hamburg and ETH Zurich's SPEED2ZERO project before joining UiO.
His sole listed article (2024) explores how extreme land use changes affect wind energy via regional climate models.
Awards: None explicitly stated, but he is a fellow at das junge ZiF and co-organizer of energy-climate modeling workshops.
Advising: Open to master's theses on renewables and climate. No grants listed.
Labs/Teams: Contributed to SPEED2ZERO project at ETH Zurich prior to UiO.
