Jan Wissink

Jan Wissink is a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Brunel University, affiliated with the School of Engineering and Design. He is also a member of the CLIMSEAS project, contributing expertise in computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer.

• Research Interests: Numerical methods and simulations, heat transfer, diffusion at high Schmidt numbers, buoyant flows
• Active Projects: DNS of gas transfer across air-water interface driven by bottom-shear turbulence and buoyant convection; LES of laminar heat transfer augmentation by external disturbances

His work focuses on Direct Numerical Simulations (DNS) and Large Eddy Simulations (LES) of complex fluid flows, particularly involving heat transfer, turbulence, and buoyant convection. Collaborations include Dr. Herlina (KIT, Germany) and PhD students Boris Kubrak and Matthew Fleetwood.
