Dr. Jan Steven van Dokkum is a Post-Doc researcher at the Professorship for Computational Mechanics of Building Materials at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Previously, he conducted research at Delft University of Technology under Prof. Lucia Nicola and participated in a collaborative project with Tata Steel Europe under the supervision of Prof. Jilt Sietsma, Dr. Sven Erik Offerman, and Dr. Cornelis Bos. His work focuses on friction in advanced (meta-)materials and the mechanics and physics of solid interfaces.

Research Interests: Jan's research spans Tribology, Computational Mechanics, and Metamaterials, with a particular emphasis on adhesive contact mechanics and interface physics. His work bridges theoretical modeling and practical applications in material science.
