Jan Markendahl

Jan Markendahl is an Associate Professor (Docent) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology's Communication Systems Department within the EECS School. With over 20 years in industry before joining KTH in 2003, he transitioned to academia focusing on techno-economic research in telecommunications. He holds a Licentiate degree (1986) and a PhD (2011) in Communication Systems, completed after restarting his doctoral studies in 2008. His work bridges technical innovation with business strategy, particularly in 5G, IoT ecosystems, smart cities, and sharing economy models.
