Jan Maas

Jan Maas is a Professor of Mathematics at IST Austria, leading the Stochastic Analysis Group. He specializes in stochastic analysis, optimal transport theory, and mathematical physics, with a focus on geometric and analytic aspects of Ricci curvature. His work bridges probability, analysis, and geometry, contributing to foundational understanding in these fields.

He organizes seminars such as the ISTA Mathematics Colloquium and Vienna Probability Seminar. He has supervised multiple PhD students and postdocs, with former members including Arseniy Akopyan, Lorenzo Dello Schiavo, and Melchior Wirth.
