Jan Gill is a Reader at the School of Health Sciences, Queen Margaret University. Their research focuses on alcohol consumption patterns among heavy drinkers, alcohol brief interventions (ABIs), physiological effects of alcohol on reproductive systems, cardiovascular risk profiles in young women, and binge drinking trends.
Funded by the Chief Scientist Office, Alcohol Research UK, and the NHS Lothian Endowments Fund, Jan has investigated the impact of Scottish Government alcohol policy changes on consumption and collaborated with NHS Lothian on training programs to enhance healthcare professionals' skills in delivering ABIs to nursing and occupational therapy students.
