Jamie Wagner

Dr. Jamie Wagner is an Associate Professor in the Economics Department at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), part of the College of Business Administration. She directs the UNO Center for Economic Education, which focuses on enhancing economic and financial literacy for K-12 educators and students in Omaha. Additionally, she serves as a Teaching Fellow for the Foundation for Teaching Economics (FTE), a national nonprofit dedicated to improving economic education globally.

She holds a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Hastings College (2010), an MA in Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2013), and a PhD in Economics from the same institution (2015). Her research emphasizes economic pedagogy, financial literacy, and the impact of educational interventions on student outcomes. She has been recognized with awards such as the 2021 Alumni Outstanding Teaching Award, the 2020 NAEE Rising Researcher Award, and the 2017 Midlands Business Journal Top 40 Under 40.

Her service includes directing the Center for Economic Education and contributing to financial literacy blogs for the Omaha Moms Blog and Centris Federal Credit Union. She has published extensively on topics like financial education efficacy, gender differences in financial decision-making, and innovative teaching methods in economics.

Dr. Wagner’s work bridges academic research and practical education, with a focus on empowering educators and fostering financial literacy across diverse populations.
