Jamie Schumpf is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychology at Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. She serves as the Director of Clinical Training and Director of Internship and Externship Training in the Clinical Psychology Program (PsyD), while also holding an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor role in Psychiatry at NY Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College.
- Education: Postdoctoral Fellowship at NY Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College; PsyD and MA in Clinical Psychology (Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology); MA in Psychology (John Jay College of Criminal Justice); BA in Philosophy and Psychology (Binghamton University).
Dr. Schumpf specializes in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and sleep disorders, particularly focusing on CBT adaptations for insomnia and anxiety disorders. Her clinical work extends to depression, obsessive-compulsive, and related disorders. She has co-authored adaptations of CBT for insomnia in group settings and presented on manualized CBT applications in diverse community populations.
Scientific Honors:
- Certified Diplomate, Academy of Cognitive Therapy (ACT).
- Teacher of the Year (2014) at NY Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical College, awarded by the Psychology Internship Training Program.
Dr. Schumpf supervises doctoral interns and residents at NYP Weill Cornell and teaches all four years of Ferkauf’s Professional Seminar course. She co-recipent of a five-year HRSA grant to train graduate students and is actively involved in professional leadership roles, including as Editor of Advances in Cognitive Therapy, Board Member at Large for the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and President Elect of NYC-CBT.
