Jamie Rivera

Jamie Rivera serves as a Lecturer in the Nursing Department at Westfield State University, where she teaches courses including Psychiatric Nursing and Nursing Care of Women & Children. She specializes in pediatrics and holds multiple certifications in pediatric emergency care. Dr. Rivera is Co-chair of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and serves on the Admissions & Academic Policy Committee and Curriculum Committee.

Her educational pursuits include:

Dr. Rivera's research interests focus on pediatric emergency and trauma nursing, with expertise in advanced life support and certified in PALS, ENPC, and TNCC. Her clinical work in the pediatric emergency department informs her teaching and research, particularly in the areas of pediatric behavioral health and emergency care for women and children. She has presented on topics such as 'Pediatric Behavioral Health in the ED – The New Normal?' at the Beta-Zeta Scholarship Day.

Professionally, she is a Registered Nurse with Board Certification in Pediatric Nursing (PNBC) and is active in the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and Sigma Theta Tau. She also works per diem at Connecticut Children's Medical Center Emergency Department.
