James Tsui serves as Assistant Professor in the Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology and Associate Member in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at McGill University. He holds additional appointments as Associate Investigator in the Cancer Research Program at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and is affiliated with the Department of Radiation Oncology at Montreal's Cedars Cancer Centre.
Dr. Tsui's research pioneers artificial intelligence applications in radiation oncology, with specialization in deep-learning based auto-segmentation of medical images. His work strategically leverages machine learning to develop tailored cancer treatment approaches, advancing personalized medicine through innovations in oncology informatics and medical imaging. Key research domains include radiotherapy optimization, cancer diagnostics, and computational biology for therapeutic decision support.
The Tsui Lab actively recruits graduate students for the BBME program, focusing on AI-driven solutions that bridge computational research with clinical radiotherapy practice. Current projects emphasize developing robust deep learning frameworks for medical image analysis that directly enhance treatment precision while addressing real-world clinical constraints in cancer care.
