James Spilling

James Spilling is a Singing Tutor in the Drama Department at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He holds a music degree from Manchester University and a postgraduate qualification from The Royal Academy of Music in London. His career spans vocal coaching for major films, including Bohemian Rhapsody and Last Christmas, alongside extensive work in West End musicals and national tours such as Man of La Mancha and Sweeney Todd.

As a session singer, he has contributed to TV shows like The X Factor and artists including Sarah Brightman. His film/TV/game soundtrack credits include Disney’s Onward, Aladdin, and Killzone Trilogy. Spilling is also a composer and arranger, releasing the jazz album Do You Read Me? and collaborating with orchestras like the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and production libraries in London.

His vocal expertise spans classical, jazz, and contemporary genres, with notable performances at venues like The Royal Albert Hall and collaborations with renowned artists such as Russell Watson and Lesley Garrett.
