Dr. James S Edwards is an Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Humanities at the University of Glasgow, affiliated with the Department of Philosophy. His research focuses on foundational issues in logic, language, and epistemology, with notable contributions to debates on logical consequence, semantic theory, and theories of meaning. Edwards has actively published in leading journals such as Mind and Notre Dame Journal of Formal Logic, addressing topics like Tarski’s semantics and Davidsonian approaches to meaning. His work also explores epistemic warrants in conscious perception, bridging philosophy of mind and epistemology.
Selected publications include a 2020 chapter on logicism and logical consequence, and a 2018 Pacific Philosophical Quarterly article on higher-order theories of perception. Edwards’ scholarship demonstrates a sustained engagement with analytic philosophy’s core questions, particularly at the intersection of logic, language, and mind.
