James R. P. Ogloff

James R. P. Ogloff is the Executive Dean of the School of Health Sciences and University Distinguished Professor of Forensic Behavioural Science at Swinburne University of Technology. He also serves as a senior advisor at Forensicare (Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health). With over 40 years in clinical and forensic psychology, his expertise spans forensic evaluations, mental health in correctional settings, and the long-term effects of child sexual abuse. He has published 18 books and over 350 scholarly works.

His research focuses on sexual offending, violence prediction, forensic mental health, and justice system reform. Key contributions include risk assessment instruments (e.g., SVR-20, DASA), policy reviews, and evaluations of offender treatment programs. Notable awards include the Order of Australia (AM) and the Donald Andrews Career Contribution Award. He chairs government task forces and advises boards on forensic mental health, corrections, and youth justice.
