Dr. James O. Olufowote is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at The University of Oklahoma (OU) and an adjunct in the Department of International and Area Studies. His research bridges health communication and organizational communication, focusing on the public health of marginalized communities in sub-Saharan Africa. Key projects include analyzing polio vaccine resistance in northern Nigeria and HIV/AIDS prevention in Tanzania, emphasizing socio-cultural contexts, community-based organizing, and health activism.
