James Noonan

James Noonan is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Academic Director of the Master's of Science in Technology Management Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds roles in both the Gies College of Business and the College of Law. His academic journey includes a BA in Southeast Asian Studies (2005), JD (2011), and MA in East Asian Languages & Cultures (2013), all from the University of Illinois system institutions.

His teaching focuses on Business Law and Ethics, Action Learning, and Professional Communication. He has been recognized as an outstanding educator with multiple teaching excellence awards (2018-2022) and a recent Department Service Award (2024).

Noonan has led initiatives such as the MSBA Academic Directorship (2018-present) and contributed to experiential learning research. His current courses emphasize practical skills like project management, ethical decision-making, and cross-cultural communication. He advises the Illinois Business Consulting program and has held leadership roles in academic development and legal practice.
