James David Finklea Jr.

James "David" Finklea Jr., M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, affiliated with the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He serves as Associate Director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program and Medical Director of 8 Green at Clements University Hospital.

• Education: Bachelor's in Health and Exercise Science from Centenary College; Medical Degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch; Internal Medicine Residency at Scott and White Hospital; Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Emory University.

Dr. Finklea's clinical focus includes vitamin D deficiency, cystic fibrosis-related diabetes, and transplant critical care, aiming to improve patients' quality of life through specialized treatment.

He actively contributes to institutional initiatives as a member of the Antibiotic Stewardship Committee, Preclerkship Committee, CUH Sepsis Initiative Committee, and Code Blue Committee.
