معرفی
James D. M. Speed is a Professor and Researcher at the Department of Natural History, NTNU University Museum, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). His work spans biodiversity, climate change impacts, herbivory ecology, and biogeography, with fieldwork across Arctic, alpine, boreal, and African ecosystems.
Education: BSc (Hons.) Biology (2001–2005, University of York), PhD Biological Sciences (2006–2009, University of Aberdeen). Career: Postdoctoral Fellow (2009–2016), Associate Professor (2016–2021), and Professor (2021–present) at NTNU. He serves on the editorial boards of *Ecology* and *Ecological Monographs*.
Research focuses on species-environment interactions, evolutionary relationships, and disentangling climate-herbivory effects on ecosystems. Key interests include Arctic shrub growth, invasive species, and ecoinformatics. His work uses natural history collections, remote sensing, and experimental approaches.
Publications span over 100 peer-reviewed articles, including studies on moose impacts in boreal forests, Arctic herbivore diversity, and climate-driven biodiversity shifts. He leads a dynamic research group advising over 30 PhD/master’s students and postdocs globally.
Awards include NTNU Outstanding Academic Fellowship and Research Council of Norway’s Young Research Talents Programme. Active in science communication, he collaborates internationally on biosecurity and Arctic conservation initiatives.
