James D. Fortenberry

James D. Fortenberry, MD, is a Professor of Pediatrics and holds an adjunct appointment in the Fairbanks School of Public Health at Indiana University. He previously served as Division Chief of Pediatrics (2015–2020) and directs the Child and Adolescent Gender Health Program at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. His research focuses on adolescent health, sexual health, and STI/HIV prevention, with federal funding since 1987. He has over 350 peer-reviewed publications.
